Training Since 1989

The SCPDCA UAP is an open-shop program supporting the Southern California area since 1989. The program proudly trains apprentices over a four-year period to graduate as journeyman working in the field. The program helps painters and contractors succeed in the painting industry.

For the Apprentice:
To be an apprentice in the program you must be hired by one of the member contractors. Send a resume of your work experience to gstewart@gsecorp.org and it will be distributed to the contractor members. When you are hired the contractor will enroll you in the program.

Training & Curriculum

  • Three years classroom with 6000 on the job training hours
  • Journeyman Graduation includes certificates from Federal, State, Cerritos College and SCPDCA UAP
  • Approved for Southern California prevailing wage work

Curriculum includes:

  • Twelve Modules/20 Saturdays per year
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Hands on painting project
  • Safety Fair
